The Rosemount 5408 Radar Level Transmitter utilizes two-wire Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar technology to provide continuous and highly reliable level measurement. It transmits microwave signals toward the material surface and measures the frequency difference of the reflected signal to determine level with high precision. The transmitter offers standard accuracy of ±2 mm (optional ±1 mm ultra-accuracy) and supports measurement ranges up to 492 ft (150 m), making it suitable for both short and tall storage tanks. It operates in demanding environments with temperatures from -60°C to 250°C and pressures up to 100 bar, ensuring stable performance in harsh industrial conditions.
