Description
The Rosemount 3408 Radar Level Transmitter utilizes Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar operating at 80 GHz, enabling high-resolution measurement and improved signal focus even in narrow tanks or challenging conditions. It transmits microwave signals toward the product surface and analyzes the reflected signal frequency difference to determine level with high precision. The transmitter provides a measurement range up to 98 ft (30 m), with a standard accuracy of ±2 mm, and operates across a wide temperature range of -60°C to 200°C and pressure range from -1 to 25 bar.
In addition, the transmitter features Smart Echo Supervision™ technology, which continuously tracks and filters false echoes caused by obstructions, ensuring reliable readings even in tanks with internal structures, turbulence, or buildup. It supports both wired (4–20 mA HART) and wireless (WirelessHART) communication, reducing installation costs and enabling remote monitoring in hard-to-access locations.
