The ProSoft MVI46-DFNT is an EtherNet/IP Client/Server communication module designed for Rockwell Automation’s SLC platform, giving SLC processors a direct, single-slot connection to EtherNet/IP (DF1 for Ethernet) network devices. It allows SLC processors to interface with EtherNet/IP protocol (Explicit Messaging) compatible devices and hosts, and can also serve as a second Ethernet port or a serial pass-through channel for remote programming and troubleshooting.

Description
The ProSoft MVI46-DFNT is an EtherNet/IP Client/Server Network Interface Module that provides a powerful connection between Rockwell Automation’s SLC processors and EtherNet/IP network applications. The module can actively send read or write commands to remote devices on the network, while its 20 built-in servers allow it to simultaneously receive commands from other EtherNet/IP nodes. Up to 100 commands can be configured by the user for flexible data exchange.
For SLC 5/05 processors, the MVI46-DFNT provides a second EtherNet/IP port on a separate subnet, useful for connecting to an HMI or SCADA host without impacting the primary network. For other SLC processors, it offers a serial pass-through channel 0 service, enabling remote Ethernet-based programming and troubleshooting. The module fits into a single 1746 backplane slot and is compatible with SLC 5/02 M0/M1-capable processors and newer.
