Description
The ProSoft MVI56E-MNETCR is a Modbus TCP/IP Multi Client Enhanced Communication Module with Reduced Data Block, designed to improve performance when controlling multiple Modbus TCP/IP servers on a network by supporting up to 30 Client connections simultaneously. This multi-client architecture delivers faster response times, reduces overall network traffic, and minimizes the impact on other server communications if one device goes offline. The module supports a 5,000-word (16-bit register) user-definable data mapping and is fully backward-compatible with earlier MVI56-MNETCR modules, preserving existing ladder logic and configurations.
The module’s small I/O data image is specifically optimized for remote rack installations over ControlNet or EtherNet/IP. Configuration and diagnostics run through ProSoft Configuration Builder (PCB) software via the module’s Ethernet port, with support for remote setup over bridged EtherNet/IP and ControlNet networks — eliminating the need for RSLinx and supporting IT/Automation network segmentation. Networked devices and their functions can be enabled or disabled directly from ladder logic, allowing multiple applications or recipes to run without reconfiguring the module. An onboard web server and 4-character alphanumeric LED display provide plain-English status and diagnostics, while a Compact Flash Personality Module stores configuration for quick field replacement.
